Managing Video Files

A video can contain multiple video files. If you upload multiple video files to a video, you can then choose which file will be used for playback in the video player page.

Adding a Video File

If you’ve already uploaded a video and want to add more files to it, follow the steps below.

  1. In the video management screen, click the Videos tab.
  2. Click Add Video Asset.
The maximum file size is 20GB. Supported file types for upload include AVI, FLV, MKV, MP4, MOV, MPEG, MPG, M2TS, , M4V, TS, and WMV.
  3. In the Upload Video window that appears, you can either:
    • Drag-and-drop the file into the window.
    • OR
    • Click Select Files. Browse to and select the desired video file, then click Open.

A progress bar appears in the Upload Video window to show the progress of the file upload.

Don’t close the Upload Video window while the video file is uploading. This will cause the upload process to fail. The window automatically closes once the progress bar is full, indicating that the upload process has completed.

After the file has uploaded, you can then navigate away from this screen. Your platform is processing the file to prepare it for viewing — this may take a while depending on the file size. Return to the Library to check on the status of the video.

If the video file’s status shows as “Failed”, that means it can’t be used. Ensure that the video file meets the input requirements for a success upload (see Video Input Requirements and Output Formats) and try uploading the file again. If the upload fails again, then the file may be corrupted. For further assistance, contact Worldplay Support.

Previewing a Video File

After you’ve successfully added a video file, you can preview the video content in the Videos tab.

  1. In the video management screen, click the Videos tab.
  2. Find the video file that you want to preview and click Preview.
  3. A preview appears in the player window opens. To close the window, click the × at the top right of the window.

Setting the Default Video File

When more than one video file has been uploaded successfully, you can choose which video file will be used for playback in the video player page. The first video file uploaded will automatically be selected as the default, but you can set a different file as the default.

  1. In the video management screen, click the Videos tab.
  2. Find the video file that you want to use, click the drop-down, and choose Set Default.

The video file you’ve selected will now be the default.

Deleting a Video File

You can delete a video file that you’ve uploaded.

You can’t retrieve a deleted video file. You can ensure that you select the correct video file by previewing it first.
  1. In the video management screen, click the Videos tab.
  2. Find the video file that you want to delete and click Delete.
  3. Click OK in the confirmation message that appears.

The selected video file has been deleted. To delete additional videos, repeat the steps above.
