After you’ve opened the Menu Builder, you can begin creating menu items which can then be organized into menus. To learn about the different types of menu items that you can create, see the Overview of Menus and Menu Items topic.

Adding a Menu Item

  1. Under Global Settings in the left menu, click Menu.
  2. If you have the Multi-Language feature, click on the language that you want to add menu items for.
  3. The Header is selected by default. Select Footer if you want to edit the footer instead.
  4. Click Menu Item.
The New Menu Item editor appears.
  5. In the Type drop-down, choose the menu item that you want to create (refer to Menu Items).
  6. In the Label text field, enter a name for the menu item.
    • If you change your mind about the name, click reset to clear the text field, and then enter a different name.
  7. Depending on the Type that you selected in Step 4, do one of the following:

Adding a Page Menu Item

First, follow the instructions from Adding a Menu Item before you proceed with the instructions in this topic.

  1. If you want the page to open in a new window, select the Open in New Window checkbox. The checkbox is deselected by default, which means the page will open in the current window.
  2. If you want to refine the searchability of the page from a search engine, enter the desired parameters in the Advanced Query Parameters text field.
This only works if your page is set for public access.

  3. In the Channel drop-down menu, choose the channel where the page is located.
If you make any changes to the Page Library in the separate tab, you will have to refresh the Menu Builder in your browser in order to see the changes. (For example, you might change the name of a page, delete a page, or create a new page in the Page Library.)
  4. In the Page drop-down menu, choose the page that you want to link to.
  5. Click Save.

To enable the new page menu item, see Enabling/Disabling a Menu Item.

Adding a URL Menu Item

First, follow the instructions from Adding a Menu Item before you proceed with the instructions in this topic.

  1. If you want the URL to open in a new window, select the Open in New Window checkbox. The checkbox is deselected by default.
  2. In the URL text field, enter the full URL of the website that you want to link to.
Don’t use a relative URL. Always enter the full URL, even if you’re linking to an internal page on your platform.
  3. Click Save.

To enable the new URL menu item, see Enabling/Disabling a Menu Item.

In the Link Groups Footer, you can link to pages within your Vidflex site or to external URLs such as your company’s website or social media pages. Each link group is displayed in its own column.

In the example below, five link groups are displayed in the Link Groups Footer.

  1. Under Global Settings in the left menu, click Menu.
  2. If you have the Multi-Language feature, click on the language that you want to add menu items for.
  3. Select Footer (Group Links).
  4. Click Menu Item.
The New Menu Item editor appears.
  5. In the Type drop-down, choose Group.
  6. In the Label text field, enter a name for the new Group. (This is the title of the group that will be displayed on your footer)
    • If you change your mind about the name, click reset to clear the text field, and then enter a different name.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Create a Page or URL menu item. (See Adding a Page Menu Item and Adding a URL Menu Item.)
  9. Move the Page or URL menu item under your Group.
Page links and URLs will not appear if they’re not placed inside a Group.
  10. To add more items under the Group, repeat Steps 8 and 9 above.
  11. To publish your menu items on the footer of your Vidflex site, follow the steps in Enabling or Disabling a Menu Item.
